Sometimes I wonder if people in other countries are learning English grammar from internet memes like lolcats.

I just got a piece of spam trying to get me to click on a link with this subject line: "Barack Obama can lost President's Chair".

Sometimes I wonder if our high school students are learning English grammar from internet memes like lolcats.

If it's at all AI technology, you know it is. Meant to mimic humans... and they certainly do love to mimic such memes.

oh and ps: english grammar from what era?

The centre of everything is the center. Sometimes the colour of colors is delightful.

Obvious examples, surely; and yet repeated throughout "english" time.

That's actually more nationalistic. Of course, one would have to then determine what differentiates eastern English from western.

The clear historical marker of things such as center/centre, color/colour, et al is the seperation of nation. Although certainly there was some buffer time as usage declined...

but ye olde English (Englishe sometimes...) is different from the more recent basis of western English, aka Americanization or however you wish to call it.

Obvious examples of different groupings of time and relevance to such.

speaking of lolcats...

i always pronounce it "L-O-L cats".

but recently i heard someone say: "lawlcats" (umm.. like lollipop, w/o the ipop)

Sometimes I wonder if I can learn how to be cool via people who understand internet memes like lolcats.

I realized I say it as lawl-cats (in my head, I don't think I've ever had occasion to pronounce it out loud). I feel dirty somehow.

My work's customer base is mainly made up of 17 year old internet addicts. I get exposed to all the internet memes, one way or another.

all i can think of to clean up your dirtiness is putting a lot of mud on you. i'm not clever. that's all i can think of. i think it's good for the pores. and mud that's like clay is as good as water - better if you're trying to get down with earth.

ha! this is what i said to sonja about some girl's halloween costume that had leaves on it: "i wanna roll around on her!" i like leaves. i'm sure the girl was nice, but i only wanted to roll on her leaves.
